‘What is coding and why you should do it?’

We’re going to explain coding the way we would explain it to my three-year-old niece. Coding is in general the way that we communicate with our computers.

When we say computers, don’t just think about the types

of laptops and desktops that we have.

It is relevant for any type of complex technology. There are computers in our cars, phones, smart homes & there are computers in the little credit card swipe machines that we use at the grocery store. So, any kind of digital device you have – completing some type of authorization for you – should be considered a computer.

Those computers take lines of code to tell the devices what to do. Code is something that is used in so many places that you might not always realize it. Everywhere from small calculators that you use up to spaceships and making sure that they are going where they’re supposed to go.

Code is used for all of that. A programming language or coding language is basically the bridge between what the computer understands and what we perceive. To elaborate, what we learn and understand ourselves instead of learning a binary language like ones and zeros. Therefore, coding languages just make it a little simpler and easy for you to be able to communicate with your computer and tell it what to do.

Why is coding important?

Our digital world is propelled by code. To function, every website, smartphone app, computer software, calculator, and even microwave relies on code. As a result, coders are the digital age’s architects and constructors. There will be 1.4 million computer science jobs available in the next ten years, but only roughly 400,000 graduates are competent to fill them.

The requirement for at least a basic understanding of programming and coding will affect jobs that are not immediately related to computer sciences, such as finance, medicine, and journalism.

So why should you learn how to code?

Attractive Salary & Career Opportunities

If you know how to code, you can find plenty of work prospects in the huge world of technology. Programmers are in high demand throughout the world. You can work as a freelancer, for some companies, on your own side projects, or start your own company using your coding skills. Programmers’ salaries are also appealing because they involve critical thinking and situation analysis. Programming masters work fewer hours but earn more, and they are more flexible in their daily lives in order to complete their jobs. The salaries of computer programmers in India is shown below.

Develop Problem-Solving and Logical Skill

Programming is all about breaking down problems into smaller bits, creating a program with your own logic and techniques, and then providing a solution. Coding pushes your brain to think thoroughly about a problem, organize your thoughts, apply logic, and finally come up with a solution. You must utilize your intellect every time you meet a new difficulty; you may have to invent your own rule, and you must take a logical approach.

Develop Interpersonal Skills

Coding not only improves technical skills, but also aids in the development of soft skills. When you work in a team, you will almost always need to collaborate with your coworkers, discuss projects with them, and interact with your manager, and all of these things will eventually develop your soft skill, which will help you build good relationships not only in your professional life but also in your personal life. When you cooperate with other clever individuals and produce something together that is genuinely meaningful for people in this world, magic happens in code.

It doesn’t just stop there

Not only does this skill increase your earning potential in your work field, but it can also expand the possibilities & opportunities that are available to you across the board. So even if you’re not even that interested in learning to code for the sake of having a career change, knowing some code can help you to automate the processes that you currently have. In addition, it can also help you to be on top of (and be in the know of) what’s happening in the tech industry.

We hope this article gave you a little more insight into what coding is and why it’s so important to learn. If you haven’t already go ahead and check out some of our other articles.
